Amazon is expanding access to its services Healthcare virtual assistant, Health AIThe company said on Tuesday. This feature was originally only available for One medical For members, but it will now be available to most customers on the Amazon app and website. It will be rolled out over the next few weeks, with the aim of making it available to all Amazon customers in the US.
Amazon Health AI can answer general healthcare questions and provide health guidance to people based on their health history, medications, and health conditions. To receive a more personalized response, you can grant access to your medical records.
Other functions that Health AI can help with include filling prescription refills through Amazon Pharmacy and connecting you with One Medical doctors via video, in-person appointments or messaging.
Health AI is not the first chatbot To provide health guidance. There have been concerns about chatbots and their use on sensitive topics such as health advice, because misinformation can cause harm. We always warn against entering private and sensitive information into artificial intelligence robots and take their advice with caution, as it is known that artificial intelligence hallucination. Double-check with your provider about any healthcare advice your AI chatbot gives you.
Amazon’s virtual assistant is said to be HIPAA compliant and is only intended for medical support, not to replace a healthcare provider. Health AI will be able to answer questions like: “Can you explain my recent cholesterol results and what they mean for me?” or “What allergy medications are safe with my current prescriptions?”
Amazon says Health AI will direct you to a human provider if you’re unsure about any clinical recommendations. If you need specialized treatment, Health AI allows you to connect with both the provider and the specialist.
Amazon Prime members interested in using Health AI will be eligible for a free introductory offer that allows you to contact your One Medical provider for five free care consultations via direct message. These services can also be shared with family members if you have Amazon Family and either Prime for Young Adults or Prime Access.
If you use Health AI after those first five visits, it costs $29 per telehealth session. If you plan to use it more than that, you can purchase a One Medical membership for $99 per year. You can add up to five family members for $66 per year each.
