A new Gemini feature in GM vehicles may allow drivers to check fuel prices


GM announced earlier this week It will upgrade 4 million vehicles with it twin,Google’s family of generative AI models. The rollout will take place over several months and will include GM’s four brands — Chevrolet, GMC, Buick and Cadillac — with model years 2022 or later. Customers will need to connect to OnStar, log into the Google Play Store, use US English as the language and sign up for Gemini.

GM has identified several potential uses for the Gemini. One of them can help drivers save fuel, and its price Just keep rising in the United States. For example, you could ask Gemini to plan the shortest route between planned stops to find the one with the cheapest fuel.

You can also ask Gemini the location of the nearest café or post office, have Gemini read the incoming texts and then dictate the responses with Gemini. Gemini can also locate podcasts to listen to or create a music playlist.

To access entertainment, you’ll need to load apps like Netflix, Hulu, Prime Video, YouTube, Spotify, Amazon Music, or others into your car’s infotainment system. You can add apps via Google Play Store.

GM said customers can use Gemini through natural back-and-forth conversation, rather than commands.
