OpenAI has acquired a new hardware partner.
The Artificial Intelligence Research Laboratory announced this on Monday Formed a partnership with semiconductor company Broadcom For 10 gigawatts of dedicated AI accelerators. These AI accelerator racks will be deployed in OpenAI data centers and partner data centers starting in 2026 through 2029.
“By designing its own chips and systems, OpenAI can integrate its learnings from developing leading models and products directly into devices, unlocking new levels of capability and intelligence,” the company said in a press release.
While the terms of the deal were not disclosed, the Financial Times estimated it OpenAI could cost an estimated $350 billion to $500 billion.
This is just it Latest infrastructure deal for OpenAI in recent weeks.
