HMD’s Touch 4G is a stupid smartphone

The new HMD Touch 4G – only available in India at the moment It is unlikely that he will ever come to the United States – It splits the difference between smartphones and feature phones, offering a touch screen and video calls, but with the small size (and price) of feature phones.

It does not run on Android, but rather uses a custom operating system called RTOS Touch. This means no Android apps, instead, you get access to the Cloud Phone Service, which is essentially a platform for HMD’s core browser apps. You get smartphone messaging options like group chats and video calls, but only in a specific app called Express Chat — it’s available for Android and iOS too, but you’ll have to convince friends with smartphones to download it.

A headphone jack helps, and at least it charges via USB-C. But you may need to invest in a microSD card, because the massive 128MB of internal storage may not last long.
