However, Sceye chose a balloon-like design to take advantage of the lifting force of lighter-than-air helium to reach the stratosphere and stay there.

Sceye’s last test flight marked the end of the technology endurance program, with HAPS spending more than 12 days in the air. The program collected data on how systems deteriorated over time. This data will allow the company to make the necessary adjustments and prepare for the upcoming commercial test flights, which will focus on traveling to specific areas to provide internet to people on the ground.
