Zillow is adding direct messaging so you can chat about homes you’ll never buy

Zillow is trying to make it easier to share listings by putting a messaging feature directly into its app. Instead of sharing a link to your dream home via text message, Zillow says you can invite a friendOr a family member or significant other to chat from your app inbox.

From there, you and your shopping partner can have a back-and-forth conversation about listings, as well as share your new finds within the Zillow app. You can start a conversation by opening your inbox and choosing the option to invite someone else. Zillow will then create an invitation link that you can share with them, allowing them to join your search.

Zillow’s messaging feature may seem a bit unnecessary, but I can see how it could be useful. Apparently this might make it easier for you to keep track of all the lists you talked about with your shopping partner, as you wouldn’t have to sort through irrelevant conversations and photos to find the list you talked about via text.
