YouTube Premium is getting more expensive

YouTube Premium is becoming more expensive in the US, with prices rising by $2 for standard individual accounts and up to $4 for the family plan. The price increase is already in effect for new accounts, and is now rolling out to existing customers.

Premium’s individual plan now costs $15.99 per month, up from $13.99, while a five-person family plan costs $26.99, up from $22.99 previously. Premium Lite, which removes “most” ads but doesn’t include YouTube Music, is $8.99 per month, up from $7.99.

New prices are now in effect for new subscriptions, and 9to5Google Reports Current subscribers will be notified of the price increase via the following email:

To continue providing great services and features, we’re increasing the price to $15.99 per month. We don’t make these decisions lightly, but this update will allow us to continue improving Premium and supporting the creators and artists you watch on YouTube.

The change will appear on your billing date of June 7, 2026.
