YouTube now rewards your likes with fun animations

YouTube has introduced a new Like button on select videos that rewards your participation with a brief animation. This feature was first announced in mid-October as part of a list of updates that included changes to the user interface to make it easier to navigate the platform.

There are currently 20 different animations that are customized depending on the type of video you’re watching. If it’s a video about cars or auto racing, the YouTube Like button will briefly change into an animation of tires spinning and smoking when you click it. If you’re watching something educational, the Like button will instead turn into a bright light bulb.

Yes, there are animated dog and cat videos, but unfortunately there aren’t any cute baby clip animations yet.
