If PlayStation 5 is your console of choice — and you’re not happy with the DualSense gamepad that comes with it — DualSense Edge It may be what you are looking for. Fortunately, if the high $199 asking price is what’s keeping you away, Sony is now offering the console in black and white Via the PlayStation Direct storefront On renew for $169 ($30 discount). It comes with the same one-year warranty as a new unit, although it may exhibit minor cosmetic blemishes.
The DualSense Edge is significantly more customizable than Sony’s built-in controller, with swappable control schemes you can switch to without leaving the game, assignable back paddles, and swappable joysticks in case one gets stuck. On the back are switches that allow you to adjust the trigger stop, allowing for either a full pull or a short, clicky feel. It’s also easy to adjust the joystick’s dead zone and sensitivity levels.
In addition to being a great pairing with the PS5, the DualSense Edge is also compatible with Windows. Many PC games published by PlayStation Studios feature support for some features unique to the console as well. The only significant downside to the wireless controller is that battery life is limited to eight hours, which is two hours less than Sony’s standard DualSense gamepad. This shouldn’t be a problem if you remember to charge the controller every few days.
