It warns you not to confuse this elegant interface with revolution Zack ShefskaCEO of CarEdge, a car buying concierge service.

“This ad sounds innovative, but it does not significantly change the car buying experience for consumers,” Szewska said. “Amazon Autos is built on the same dealer-driven marketplace model that has been around for decades.”

Despite Amazon’s brand and streamlined process, power still rests squarely in the hands of merchants, who control prices, fees, and terms.

“There is no transparency about the real prices,” Szewska said. “What you see depends on the merchants who pay Amazon, not who actually has the best deals.”

So, while the Amazon experience may feel familiar, it’s more like one to use autotrader Instead of buying anything else through Amazon.

“Amazon Auto is primarily an advertising and subscription business targeting car dealers,” Shefska said. “This makes the merchant the customer, not the consumer.”

However, for buyers who trust the Ford badge and want a little more digital convenience, there’s structure here. Ford’s Blue Advantage program categorizes its used vehicles into three tiers:

  • Gold Certified vehicles receive a 172-point inspection and a 12-month/12,000-mile limited warranty
  • EV certified vehicles receive a specialist 127-point inspection and a corresponding warranty
  • Certified Blue vehicles (which can include non-Ford models) get a more modest 90-day/4,000-mile warranty.

All three variants come with roadside assistance and a 14-day/1,000-mile money-back guarantee.

Certified pre-owned Ford vehicles are now available on Amazon cars In Los Angeles, Seattle and Dallas. The service is expected to expand to more cities soon, but for now, it is being rolled out on a limited basis.
