I’ll admit it, I thought augmented reality glasses like the Xreal One were a joke when I first heard about them. But they clicked for me as a gamer when I realized they could be connected to my Steam Deck or iPad to have my own huge screen no matter where I am. If you want to fully immerse yourself in your games and movies (without wearing a bulky VR headset), there are some great augmented reality headsets on sale at their lowest prices ever this Black Friday.
the Xerial One glasses It’s packed with features and costs $399.99 Amazon and Best buywhich is $180 off the original price. This model will look unassuming in your face, except for the USB-C cable that you’ll attach to the earhook to connect your device. The One supports a fast 120Hz refresh rate at 1080p, and the Micro OLED displays provide excellent contrast. The arms of the glasses have built-in Bose speakers that transmit sound to your ears.
One of my favorite features of the One, three degrees of freedom, allows you to physically hold the screen in place so it’s not always moving with your head. If you’re in a car, train, or plane, it may be necessary to use this if watching screens makes your motion sickness worse. As for the downsides, the One lacks a hardware-based myopia dial to account for myopia. If your screens look blurry, you may need to buy prescription lenses for them.
If making adjustments for myopia is crucial to you, I suggest you check it out Viture Luma Pro glasseswhich includes setup. You can get it in the regular size for $424.99 (normally around $500 off sale) at Amazon and Best buyOr in a large size for $449 as well Amazon. These devices have a slightly gaming-like appearance, which some may not like, but they are similar to the Xreal One in both functionality and specifications. It features a sharper 1200p resolution with Micro OLED displays and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. Harman tuned their built-in speakers.
Obviously, we can’t have just one set of AR glasses in 2025 that can do it all for under $500. The Viture model lacks the three degrees of freedom that the Xreal One includes. In other words, the screen image will move as you move your head. This will either be totally fine for you, or it will be a deal breaker.
