The award-winning anthology series Star Wars: Visions returns Disney Plus This week, a new season introduces nine new, self-contained takes on a galaxy far, far away filtered through the anime lens.
While Volume Two expanded the series globally with studios like Aardman in the UK and Cartoon Saloon in Ireland, Volume Three sees Star Wars: Visions return to its source material, showcasing the handiwork of Japanese studios, such as Ghost in the Shell makers Production I.G. and Attack on Titan’s Wit Studio.

Arguably the most anticipated episode from this new collection is Kamikaze Douga and Anima’s “The Duel: Payback,” which serves as a sequel to the original, fan-favorite, and Emmy-nominated miniseries “The Duel” from volume one. It follows the mysterious Ronin as he confronts a vengeful Jedi called the Grand Master, blending George Lucas’ sci-fi with the stylized samurai-inspired style of… Akira Kurosawa.
There’s also an impressive line-up of voice talent for Volume 3 with Wednesday’s Emma Myers, Reservoir Dogs’ Steve Buscemi and Star Trek legend George Takei among those appearing in the English-language cast.
Star Wars: Visions Volume 3 release date on Disney Plus
The latest version of this animated series is all set to be released on Disney Plus in 12 a.m. PT (3 a.m. ET) on Wednesday, October 29.
