Verizon is down nationwide | Edge

The first major outage occurred in 2026, as Verizon customers across the US, including many of our phones, complained that service was spotty or non-existent starting around noon Eastern time, with phones going into SOS mode and unable to connect. The cellular service outage follows a “software issue” that cut off service for many people In August for several hoursWhile Verizon has acknowledged the issue, there’s no word yet on when it will be fixed.
