It seems that every provider is keen to offer Wireless And home internet package. Shortly after AT&T announced this OneConnect US Mobile unveiled the service last month Its own combowhich includes unlimited mobile data as well as residential internet provided by Starlink’s satellite data service. Billing will only be handled through US Mobile.
US Mobile is unique among wireless providers in that it can span the networks of the three major cellular providers: T-Mobile, AT&T, and Verizon. This gives customers the ability to use the strongest network in their area, and the option to switch when travelling. Pairing with Starlink gives the company a foothold in the home internet business without relying on one of the Big Three’s broadband infrastructure.
In a He posted on Reddit to tease the serviceUS Mobile CEO Ahmed Khattak described the technical complexities of creating a service that speaks to all cellular networks in addition to the Starlink network, writing, “The same unification layer that allows us to deliver a line between three terrestrial networks is the layer that now allows us to deliver a session between terrestrial and celestial.”
The package has three tiers that combine US Mobile Unlimited Starter or Unlimited Premium plans with Starlink speed options. New US Mobile customers can sign up for one of the following options (pricing is based on the Unlimited Starter plan, which is calculated at $17 on top of the Starlink price):
• Starlink Residential 100Mbps plan is $47 per month
• Starlink Residential 200Mbps plan for $77 per month
• Starlink Residential Max, with speeds up to 400Mbps, $117 per month
Under this deal, the $349 Starlink equipment rental fee (including dish, router, power and cable) is waived.
Existing US Mobile customers can add Starlink home service for $30 per month (Residential 100 Mbps), $60 per month (Residential 200 Mbps) or $100 per month (Residential Max).
It’s always important to check the small details when looking at moving company deals.
The US Mobile Starlink FAQ states that the residential satellite plan must be used at your service address and not on the go.
As with many carrier offers, paying upfront saves money. Advertised prices for US mobile plans apply to the first year of service when paying 12 months in advance. The plan is then renewed at the US Mobile rate at that time. If you pay monthly, the Unlimited Starter plan costs $20, not $17.
For Starlink, prices apply for the first six months, paid monthly, and then revert to current Starlink prices. According to Starlink’s website, that works out to $50 per month for Residential 100Mbps, $80 per month for Residential 200Mbps, and $120 per month for Residential Max.
Specific Starlink hardware was not mentioned, but a US Mobile representative said that since Starlink is handling the implementation, customers will get existing equipment. The new residential plan straight from Starlink includes the Standard 4x dish and 3x router.
When I checked that my Seattle address was compatible with Starlink, I learned that the offer wasn’t available here yet. However, if I were to go through Starlink directly for residential service, I could get the service. The representative explained that at launch, the package was not available in certain areas with Starlink congestion pricing in place (such as parts of Seattle).
For existing Starlink customers, there doesn’t appear to be a way to take advantage of this bundle deal without canceling existing service, returning Starlink devices, and signing up as a new US mobile customer.
Finally, US Mobile’s email announcing the Starlink bundle says: “Offer offer is very limited,” which refers to the number of bundles that will be sold at the current promotional price, according to the representative.
