Trump touts his plan to rescue TikTok during his victory rally

And as of today, TikTok is back. So, you know, I did a little thing on TikTok, we have a guy, TikTok Jack, who’s a little kid who’s about 21 years old. And we hired this guy, and I went on TikTok; Can you believe what I will do to win the election? And we went to TikTok and Republicans never won the youth vote, the youth vote. They won a lot of votes, but they never won the youth vote. We won the youth vote by 36 points. That’s why I love TikTok. I love it. I had a bit of a good experience, wouldn’t you say?

Romney lost it by 40 points not long ago. We won it by 36 points. This is a very large spread. But I said, we need to save TikTok, because we’re talking about a huge number of – who, who in this audience is going to TikTok? a lot? Yes, it is very popular. And frankly, we have no choice, we have to save it – a lot of jobs. We don’t want to give our business to China, and we don’t want to give our business to other people. So I said, you know, TikTok without my consent – meaning the president’s consent because Congress gave the president the right to make a deal on whatever he wanted and uh… they did that a long time ago when they had a different president. They didn’t know I was going to be at the president’s, I guess.

So I simply said, joint venture. So, if TikTok is worth nothing, or zero without approval, then you know you don’t approve of them, they’re out of business, they’re worth nothing.

If you agree, it will be worth a trillion dollars, it’s worth a crazy number. So I said, I’ll agree, but let the USA own 50% of TikTok. I agree on behalf of the United States.

So they will have a partner, the United States, and they will have a lot of bidders, and the United States will do what we call a joint venture. There is no risk, and we do not pay any money. All we do is give them consent without which they get nothing. So, I don’t know, this seems to work. What do you think, good? So, whether you like TikTok or not, we’ll make a lot of money.
