Tim Cook had a ‘good conversation’ with Trump about de-escalation

I am deeply saddened by the events that occurred in Minneapolis, and my prayers and deepest sympathy go out to the families, communities and everyone affected.

This is the time to calm down. I believe America is strongest when we live up to our highest ideals, when we treat everyone with dignity and respect no matter who they are or where they come from, and when we embrace our common humanity. This is something Apple has long advocated. I had a good conversation with the President this week in which I shared my views, and I appreciate his openness to engage on issues that matter to us all.

I know this is very emotional and challenging for many. I’m proud of how much our teams care about the world outside our walls. This empathy is one of Apple’s greatest strengths, and something I think we all cherish.
