TikTok, is an app that was previously just a place for user-generated content release A new setting lets users choose how much AI-generated content they want to see in their For You feed. The company also offers the most advanced tagging technologies for AI-generated content.
The new Artificial Intelligence Generated Content (AIGC) control is rolling out within the app “Manage topics” The tool that lets users choose what they see on TikTok.
“Managing topics already enables people to adjust how often they see content related to more than 10 categories like dance, sports, and food and beverage,” TikTok explained in its post. Blog post. “Like these controls, the AIGC setting is intended to help people customize a diverse range of content in their feeds, rather than removing or replacing content in feeds entirely.”
The move comes at a time when companies like OpenAI and Meta are embracing AI-only feeds. In September, it was released dead Feelings, new feed To share and create short videos generated by artificial intelligence. A few days after the launch of Meta, OpenAI has released Soraa social media platform for creating and sharing AI-generated videos.
Since Sora’s launch, real-life AI-generated videos have been posted on TikTok. In addition, many TikTok users are leveraging AI to create visuals for posts on other topics, e.g date or Celebrities.
TikTok says that with new control over AI-generated content, users who want to see less of this type of content can now tone things down, while those who enjoy it can choose to see more of it.

You can access the new capability by going to your settings, selecting Content Preferences and then clicking on the Manage Topics option. Then, you can move the slider for different topics, including AI-generated content, to adjust how much you do or don’t want to see this type of content in your For You feed.
TikTok says the change will be rolled out in the coming weeks.
To improve its ability to classify AI-generated content, TikTok is now testing a technology called “invisible watermarking.”
TikTok already requires people to rate real-life AI-generated content and uses a cross-industry technology called Content credentials from C2PAwhich embeds metadata into content that lets it and other platforms know when something is generated by AI. However, TikTok points out that these labels can be removed when content is re-uploaded or edited on other platforms.
With the new “Invisible Watermarks,” TikTok will add another layer of assurance by using a watermark that only it can read. This means that it will be difficult for others to remove it.
TikTok will start adding invisible watermarks to AI-generated content created using TikTok tools like AI Editor Pro. It also adds them to content uploaded using C2PA content credentials. The company says these watermarks will help it categorize content more reliably. TikTok notes that it will continue to read C2PA content credentials and add them to AI-generated content on its platform.
In connection with these efforts, TikTok also announced that it will launch a $2 million AI literacy fund targeting experts, like the nonprofit. Girls who codeto create content that teaches people how to become AI and safety literate.
