This is Trump’s phone

Where is Trump’s phone? We will continue to talk about it every week. We reached out as usual to ask about the whereabouts of Trump’s phone. This time, surprisingly, we received a response – and an interview.

Trump’s phone is real, maybe soon? – And I saw that. Not physically, but during an hour-long video call with two Trump Mobile executives, who showed me a phone and told me more about why it was delayed, when it might actually reach buyers, and why its spec sheet changed over and over again.

I spoke to Don Hendrickson, yes the person who spoke to him Apparently he ghosted me Last time — and Eric Thomas, two of the three executives running Trump Mobile. The T1 phone Thomas showed me over Google Meet isn’t a final production model, but it looks like it’s close. T1 It appears that the logo – which has been featured since the first renders of the phone – will be dropped ahead of launch, although the American flag at the bottom will remain, as will the distinctive gold finish.

It is clear from a glance that this is not the same phone from the company Teased for eight months. The iPhone-like camera triangle has been replaced by three lenses positioned vertically in a black oval island with the words “Trump Mobile” written next to it. Look closely and you’ll see that those lenses are unevenly spaced.

The original T1 Phone model is fairly similar to the current design, but it’s clear that a lot has changed.

The phone differs in some other respects from both the version announced in June 2025 and Revised specification sheet Which appeared on the Trump Mobile website a few weeks later. It looks larger, with the ‘waterfall’ display (curved screens are back, baby) appearing closer to the originally promised 6.78-inch screen than the 6.25-inch model that came out soon after.

It will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 chipset, which is typically used in upper mid-range devices, and includes a 5,000 mAh battery, 512GB storage, and support for microSD cards up to 1TB. I don’t know the full camera specs yet, but I’m told that both the selfie camera and main rear camera use 50MP sensors, and a quick glance at the camera UI suggests the inclusion of an ultra-wide lens and possibly a telephoto, neither of which have been listed before.

“This actual phone is up there with the best phones on the market this year,” Thomas says, later claiming that it will be comparable to “any phone over $1,000.” I’m not entirely sure this is true, since you can find similar specifications, even a 50MP selfie camera, in OnePlus Nord 5which comes with 512GB of storage in the UK for £499 – about $679. A lot will depend on the camera’s performance and whether it includes key touches like waterproofing or wireless charging, which I don’t know yet. But it’s true that some specs – the resolution of the selfie camera, storage capacity, and the ultra-wide lens – are improved over the T1 we saw (or didn’t see) at launch.

To reflect this alleged improvement in quality, there will come a rise in prices. Hendrickson is quick to confirm that everyone has already made a $100 deposit (he didn’t tell me that). How many I did) would still pay a total of $499, but now they call this the “introductory price”. Later buyers will pay more, although “under $1,000” is all the pair is confirming, and it appears the final price has yet to be determined.

So why all the changes? To hear from Thomas and Hendrickson, there was so much interest in the T1 that it seemed appropriate to improve the phone by jumping a little further forward in their long-term plans. “Let’s get past our initial initial phone that we were going to kind of introduce and be quick to market,” Thomas says of the company’s thinking after early media attention. “Let’s take our time and do what we were planning to do next.”

The pair point out that the decision to re-spec the phone was behind some of the delays, but not all of them, as the T1’s launch has now been delayed by six months. However, they say it will come soon. The phone appears to have been FCC certified (supposedly). Slowed by the government shutdown) is now awaiting certification with T-Mobile, and is expected to be completed sometime in mid-March. After that, Thomas says the company will be ready to ship the phones to early buyers, though he’s hesitant to commit to a specific date. For the phone that was Promise first For August or September, then By the end of 2025and Still It just says “later this year” on Official websiteI’ll take any launch timeline with a pinch of salt.

However, it looks like we’ll be seeing more soon regardless. The two executives promised that a “relaunch” of the Trump Mobile phone is coming, and that within “the next couple of weeks” the site will be updated with images of the final phone, along with its spec sheet. Our long wait is almost over.

Of course, there’s one thing the T1 Phone won’t be made in the USA. Instead, the phones are undergoing “final assembly” in Miami, although Thomas is careful not to say too much about what that means. It’s more than just “putting a case on the phone”, and it seems to involve assembling the last ten or so parts. The couple did not mention where the bulk of the phone was assembled beforehand, only that it was being done in a “preferred country,” which basically sounds like a way of saying “not China.”

To label a product as “Made in the USA,” you have to meet certain standards, established and enforced By the Federal Trade Commission. Instead, Trump Mobile’s website currently promises that there are “American hands behind every device,” and Thomas says the wording was chosen because they “want to be honest and not mislead people at all.” He admits that “there may have been something put on the website” by mistake at launch (in this case, there was a huge banner on the homepage saying the T1 was “Made in the USA” and a press release which it says is “proudly designed and built in the USA”), but since then “we’ve kind of moved away from that.”

Full assembly in the US is still what the pair call a “goal,” though it looks like they’re working on it for future phones like T1 Ultra – Yes, that seems to be true too, although they haven’t told me more about it.

I guess we’ll have to keep waiting, but until then: the Trump phone is real, I’ve seen it (sort of), and it will finally be released next month (maybe).
