I tried the McDonaldland meal at my local McD’s on August 12, the day it was released. And I don’t want to say that I’ve been thinking about the mysterious flavor of the pink-and-blue McDonaldland Mountain tremor ever since, because that would make me sound really weird, but… I’ve thought about it.
When I tasted the shake, I guessed it was maybe blueberry, maybe cotton candy, maybe mixed berries. It’s sweet but not gross, although I will never order it again. (I’m a chocolate lover.)
But I wanted to know what the mystery flavor was. And now I do: according McDonald’s Canada nutrition page For the shake, Blue Beauty features a blend of smooth, creamy vanilla and Raspberry flavored drink(I tried to check this on the US feed page, but it kept going round and round and never loading. Get this, Ronald.)
raspberry! Raspberry flavored McDonaldland mountain shake! They are blue, so my guess about blueberries was correct! Raspberry is the hot fast food flavor these days Starbucks just came back A much-loved raspberry drink in late July.
If you’re wondering what I’m talking about, McDonald’s continues to capitalize on its customers’ love of the company’s goofy history. More recently, Happy Meals have included McDonald’s-themed toys — such as drink machines, fryers and trays containing food — that are delivered in small Happy Meal boxes. Which is long awaited Snack covers He finally returned after a viral fan campaign.
The McDonaldland meal goes right after the adult market with a nostalgic feeling for the Golden Arches. It’s not cheap — here in Seattle, a city with a high cost of living, a medium meal cost $16.59 and a large meal cost $18.29.
You can choose from a Quarter Pounder with Cheese or order a 10-piece McNugget. It also comes with the chain’s famous fries and your choice of drink. But the signature drink that comes with the meal is called the as-yet-mysterious-flavored McDonaldland Mountain Shake, which is glowing blue and topped with hot-pink whipped cream. It’s supposed to look like a volcano, with the pink cream like lava, I think.
Unlike the Happy Meal, the McDonaldland meal is intended for adults.
You can order the shake without the meal if you just want to try it. If you don’t want to try it, you can choose a regular drink or another flavor of shake with your meal from McDonald’s.

I’ve tried hot pink whipped cream on its own, and it didn’t seem to have any flavor, so maybe they took regular whipped cream and dyed it pink.
Nostalgic characters from McDonald’s advertisements are displayed on the small packages included in the meals.
Instead of a simple toy, the McDonaldland Meal comes with a 5″ x 7″ box featuring one of McDonaldland’s signature characters. I ended up with the Hamburglar, which would have probably been my choice after Grimace.
The cans come engraved with the names Hamburglar, Grimm’s, Ronald McDonald, Mayor McCheese, Birdie the Early Bird and The Fry Guys. Honestly, I’m not sure what anyone would do with this box, but it was definitely a classier item than most Happy Meal toys.
Inside the box is a card with a code you can scan to explore McDonald’s online, an ID card for your special character, two postcards and four stickers. One of my posters said “Robble Robble,” Hamburglar’s favorite phrase, and one poster read: “Keep going! Hamburglar and I are in the middle of a robbery.” I can’t really imagine anyone putting these on their water bottle or laptop, but to each their own.
Honestly, unless McDonald’s nostalgia is your thing, I’d advise you to stick to your regular food order at Golden Arches and skip the meal. But if you don’t get enough blue and pink food in your life, who does? — Try a Mount MacDonaldland shake once, pass it around to let your friends guess the flavor before you smugly make the big reveal, then go back to chocolate or another good old plain flavour.
