The one thing both our computer speaker reviewer and our audio expert agree on is that these speakers sound great, especially for their size and power. Because they’re designed to function as studio monitors, they have a nice flat midrange that makes it easy to mix or balance, bold bass response, and high-quality detail to get those little details dialed in. They look great for just sitting and listening to music or watching a movie too, but anyone who works on audio or video production may appreciate them more than the average PC gamer.
While it has 3.5mm RCA and TRS inputs for desktop connections, it also has Bluetooth in case you want to connect your phone for some jams, or even a turntable that has its own speaker. The included stands point them directly at your face, and are tuned for near-field listening, so they’re perfectly set up to sit at your computer and get audio work done. If you have a more custom setup, there are 3/8-inch and 16-thread inserts on the bottom of each, so you can mount them on dedicated mic stands for better placement.
Although the voice capabilities universally impressed us, there are some usability concerns for casual users that might give you some pause. All of the on-board controls are hidden around the back of the left speaker, so you may need to reach around a bit depending on where it’s mounted. These include a set of three equalizer knobs, in case you need to dial in the volume levels, which is a nice touch for desktop speakers that don’t typically include any type of equalizer.
