The source code depot says open

Codebeerg Codebeerg poured open blade keys on the far right on a recent campaign of abuse and harassment through its systems. “Projects that defend tolerance and equal rights” to random mail campaigns were subjected to abusive messages, escalating to emails via random mail sent to users via the automatic systems of Codebeerg. Codeberg says he is strong “against hatred and hatred” that display free software projects.

On February 12, some Codeberg users received Codeberg email messages that contain offensive content. The site says this has been sent by the aggressor who benefited from the site’s ability to notify up to 100 users at one time, and to create an email for notification at a time. Codeberg says that although the accounts and functions they used were banned, “a large amount of emails for notification” has already been sent, and the same site saw a brief pause.

“Your private data has not been leaked,” Kodberg reassured users in A. statement. “All emails were created through Codeberg servers using the notification feature and the aggressors were unable to access your email address directly.”

Codeberg is a Berlin -based non -profit organization that provides hosting and other services for free and open source software projects. It includes more than 150,000 users who have worked on more than 200,000 projects, and demands a society that celebrates “free culture, openness and creativity”.

The organization, most of which are volunteers, says that although it works with some additional ability to deal with insulting campaigns, that capacity was “ended over this time.”

The statement says: “Email messages for unwanted messages for users are the new ill -treatment of us, and we have not prepared them enough,” the statement says. “Therefore, we are sorry.” The team works on plans to improve its protection against this and the types of similar abuse in the future, while responding to the affected users of the last campaign.

One of the things that the attack was not the attack is Deter Codebeerg, the commitment of open source software, which says it is “endangered” by extremist right -wing forces. “By targeting some of our most active translators, the most beautiful designers, the best developers and all other enthusiastic shareholders, they harm the ecosystem of free software/Libre as a whole.”

“We will not be frustrated in our battle against extremist right -wing ideologies,” the statement continues. “They are currently in the rise of many parts of the world, and we believe it is important to protect all types of marginalized groups. However, if you think this does not affect your project, you are wrong. The extreme right -wing forces pose a threat to all of us.”
