I’ve largely enjoyed using the Pixel 10 Pro Fold over the past week, though it finds itself in an interesting spot. Its name has the word “Pro” in it but it doesn’t include the same higher-end camera specs as the other Pixel 10 Pro Phones. And without the eye-catching slim design of its competitors, such as Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Honor Magic V5it’s easy to overlook. But once I looked beyond the subtle jade-colored surface, I found that the Pixel 10 Pro Fold has some key features that help it stand out.

I’ll admit, when I have the Pixel 10 Pro Fold and Pixel 10 Pro Fold side by side, it takes me a moment to tell them apart. The 10 Pro Fold borrows heavily from last year’s design, right down to the Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 cover and matte glass back.

The internal screen is still 8 inches, and that’s usually what I use for watching videos or multitasking, like keeping YouTube open on one side while scrolling through photos or emailing on the other.

Thanks to slimmer bezels, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold has a slightly larger 6.4-inch Cover Display than the 6.3-inch display on the 9 Pro Fold.

Both the cover and the internal displays have a refresh rate of up to 120Hz with a brightness of 3,000 nits, which is especially useful when looking at such a large screen outdoors.

Google has not reduced the fold size; In fact, this year’s model is a little thicker.

The Pixel 10 Pro Fold measures 5.2mm when open and 10.8mm when closed.

Like other book-style foldable phones, the camera bump on the Pixel 10 Pro Fold is almost as thick as it is when unfolded.

On paper, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold’s camera specifications are identical to those of the 9 Pro Fold. There’s a 48MP wide-angle camera, a 10.5MP ultra-wide camera, and a 10.8MP telephoto camera.

One of the standout features of the Fold is Made You Look. When you take a family photo, a fun animation plays on the cover screen to catch your kids’ attention – and get them looking at the camera.

There are also 10-megapixel selfie cameras on the inner and cover displays.

The Split Screen update gives you more latitude when adjusting the amount of space an app takes up on the screen, so you can have a very small app on the side and have another app dominate the screen.

But unlike the Galaxy Z Fold 7, you can only have two apps open at once, instead of three, which is disappointing.

When closed, it feels like I’m holding a regular phone (regardless of its thickness), so I find myself using the Cover’s screen quite regularly for texting, taking notes, and scrolling through social media.

The crease on the inner display is definitely visible, but like other foldable devices, it’s not very noticeable just watching something or scrolling.

The Pixel 10 Pro Fold has a 5,015 mAh battery, which is a notable upgrade over the Pixel 9 Pro Fold’s 4,650 mAh battery. I suppose this is what you get when you don’t downsize the phone.

I can easily spend an entire day texting, scrolling, taking photos, watching videos, and sending emails — and still have some battery left through the next day.
