The new Sony experimental version program allows you to test the PS5 updates early

Sony launches a new program for PlayStation Beta to present a “easier and uniform method for players to score to participate in the future PlayStation through a wide range of PlayStation experiences”, according to Blog post By Sony Sayed Shoman.

You will only need to register one time to indicate that you are interested in experimental tests. This is a nice change from the previous PS5 BetasWhich required individual contributions and symbols to arrive.

Shoman says that subscribing to the program does not guarantee that you will get a trial version.
