The new Kohler shower reuses dirty water to get you clean

Kohler claims it’s new Anthem EvoCycle smart shower system It can save “up to 80% more water” without using shower heads that limit flow or pressure. The system instead relies on a tank at the base of the shower that collects used water and passes it through a filtration system before sending it back through the shower head. Pricing Starts at $7,500or $5,625 with discounts, but you’ll need to purchase the fixtures and Water tank base $825 Separately.

The Anthem EvoCycle’s recirculation system starts with “Standard Mode” where only fresh water is delivered through a hand shower sprayer and collected in the reservoir tank. Switching to “Cycle Mode” mixes a half-gallon of fresh water with dirty used water that is sent through a closed-loop filtration system before being pumped to the shower head. Not only does the system reduce water use, it can also reduce energy use by using your hot water heater less.

The Anthem EvoCycle will need access to power for the pump as well as its own digital controller that connects to your smart home and mobile app for remote operation. You’ll just need to make sure your bathroom can accommodate its own pump system, which requires cutting a 4.5-inch-deep hole in the floor.
