The LG OLED evo W6 Wallpaper TV is back at CES

LG’s stunningly thin wallpaper design is back. The first TV wallpaper was Released back in 2017And it’s been six years since we last saw him. But LG has revived the product line with the LG OLED evo W6, and you saw it here at CES.

The TV’s body is just 9mm thick (which is actually slightly larger than the last model), thanks to a completely redesigned internal structure. The new wall mount also allows the TV to sit perfectly on the wall, and the W6 uses a Zero Connect Box, so no cable is needed between the TV and the box (although the TV will still need to be plugged into power). The Zero Connect Box can be placed up to 10 meters (about 33 feet) away and includes a full range of inputs.

The W6 includes LG’s new Hyper Radiant Color Technology, which improves black level, color and brightness performance. Designed to achieve the lowest reflection of any LG TV, Wallpaper TV is the first TV in the industry to receive Mirroring Free with Premium certification from Intertek Testing and Certification Laboratories. It has Brightness Booster Ultra, which will also be on the LG G6, to improve the brightness capability of LG’s OLED displays. Thanks to Brightness Booster Ultra, LG says the G6 will see a 20 percent increase in brightness over the previous G5 (which I measured at over 2,400 nits), but they didn’t reveal the W6’s peak brightness.

LG’s Gallery+ service will be available on the W6 Wallpaper TV (and the rest of LG’s TV range), offering more than 4,500 images to view when you’re not using them for movies, TV or gaming. The W6 will support up to 165Hz refresh rate, AMD FreeSync Premium, and is G-Sync compatible.

The W6 Wallpaper TV will be available in 77- and 83-inch sizes.
