We’ve seen Sony’s DualSense Edge discounted on several occasions this year, and it’s now on sale again ahead of Black Friday as part of Sony’s ongoing holiday promotion. You can now get a professional gaming pad in black or white Amazon, Walmartand Best buy For roughly $169 ($30 off), that’s just $10 off its previous low. The black version of the DualSense Edge is rarely discounted this much, so now’s a good time to pick one up if you prefer a more stealthy look.
If you spend a lot of time gaming on PlayStation 5, the DualSense Edge elevates the experience by offering more customization than Sony’s standard DualSense controller. For starters, the deep software integration with the PS5 lets you create up to four profiles, each with customization options for assigning buttons, stick sensitivity, and assigning commands to the back buttons. You can create separate profiles for Ute ghost and Sagittarius Raidersfor example, and quickly switch between them without having to leave the game.
In addition to custom profiles, DualSense Edge technology lets you adjust the feel of the triggers (L2 and R2), so you can customize them to suit specific playstyles and games. You can adjust the triggers to be more sensitive to online shooters such as Call of Duty: Black Ops 7Or less sensitive for racing games to achieve smoother acceleration and braking. What’s more, Edge makes it easy to swap out sticky modules if one stops working.
As much as we enjoy how customizable the DualSense Edge is, it’s not without its drawbacks. In his country review, EdgeAmazon’s Cameron Faulkner found that the controller’s average battery life is only about eight hours on a full charge, which is worse than a standard DualSense controller. However, it comes with a long charging cable that can be secured to the controller, preventing it from being accidentally grabbed.
