Calmatters welcomes the most native group of scholars to College journalism networkS
The program started in 2019 with a double mission: to increase journalism of higher education and to raise the votes of developing journalists. Funding is thanks to Futures Foundation at College and ECMC Foundation, along with Calmatters members (Become a member today).
The editor of the college journalism network Jennifer Burger has said that this year’s associates are impatient to apply and upgrade their experience covering local policy and government, criminal justice, housing and campus and campus policy.

Students will also partner with CalMatters engagement journalists to create social videos for their stories to expand information access to young people. Watch their first social video on what they plan to cover.
