With a wonderful mix of music, stories and sounds, all available in eight languages, this speaker successfully combines fun and education. It’s sturdy, has its own handle, and is simple enough for young children to operate. Timo is intended for children ages 2 years and older. There’s no need for a screen, app or internet connection, as your child can play the content by selecting one of the plastic discs and placing it on top. You get five discs in the box covering classical music, farm animals, vehicles, lullabies and bedtime stories. Each dial looks like a clock face with pictures on each hour, and kids simply press the dial they want. Additional groups of Discs are $22 They cover all kinds of topics, from dinosaurs to learning colors.
The speaker sounds surprisingly good, and there is a 3.5mm audio port Children’s headphones. Timio is a great way to introduce your kids to other languages or for multilingual families (you can press and hold the language button to switch between English, Spanish, French, German, Dutch, Chinese, Italian, and Portuguese). There’s also a quiz mode, with prompts such as finding a police car, identifying numbers, or identifying a specific shape. The Timio requires three AA batteries, and when you open the back panel, you’ll also find the SD card that contains the content. We recommend Rechargeable batteriesas you will change it often if Timio proves popular with your children. Although they are large and you can get a bag to keep them in, there is a risk of losing the discs.
