Automaker Stellantis and Chinese self-driving vehicle company Pony.ai have signed a non-binding agreement to build robotaxis for deployment in Europe.
The collaboration will integrate Pony’s autonomous driving software into Stellantis’ midsize electric truck platform, which is designed with advanced sensors to support autonomous vehicles.
The companies plan to deploy test vehicles based on the Peugeot e-Traveller first. Testing is set to begin in Luxembourg, Pony’s European headquarters, in the coming months, with plans to roll out more vehicles across European cities from 2026.
This tie-up comes just months after Pony announced… Partnership with Uber For publication in international markets, including Europe and the Middle East. This also comes after the company received a permit to test autonomous vehicles from Luxembourg in April.
While Pony.ai works to expand beyond its current markets in China and gain market share in Europe, the company is also seeking a second IPO. Pony has already been listed on the Nasdaq, and is also pursuing its goal Secondary listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
