Death kinda sucks. But does it have to be quiet and boring? Not according to beverage company Liquid Death or the music streaming app Spotify. The companies have teamed up to create the Eternal Playlist Urn, a music-playing cremation urn to satisfy your need for tunes long after you’ve tuned in for good.
“With Eternal Playlist Urn, the dead can now listen to their favorite songs forever.” Liquid Death says in a statement. “Upgrade any afterlife experience with this latest revolution in death.”
The jar has a wireless Bluetooth speaker built into the lid and can be charged using a USB-C cable. Liquid Death says there will only be 150 jars available for purchase at a price $495 all.
Answer questions like: “What is your eternal energy?” or “What noise do you prefer?” To create your own eternal playlist generator.
The Eternal Playlist Urn is the latest creation from a beverage company that likes to push the envelope with a satisfying idea. Its beverage lineup includes flavors like Berry It Alive, Convicted Melon, and Severed Lime.
Admittedly, the jar seems like a strange place for music, which is probably a joke. Although some people bury their loved one’s urn with the cremated remains inside, others keep Grandpa’s ashes displayed on a mantel or fireplace, so at least that way, you’ll be able to hear the tunes.
You may not want to buy a music urn for cremation, but Spotify has another gimmick. This will help you create the playlist you think you’ll want to listen to after death. Go to Eternal playlist generator In the Spotify mobile app, then select Let’s Go in the button at the bottom. Your eternal playlist will be created after answering a few questions.
The first question was: “What is your eternal energy?” I chose very cold. Then, “Fill in the blank: Rest in —–.” I chose bass. “What music is ready to chase?” Pumping tracks. And finally, “What’s your favorite ghost sound?” I chose bwah muhahahahaha.
Then Spotify gave me my eternal playlist, which included Tears by Sabrina Carpenter, Attention by Charlie Puth, and That’s What I Like by Bruno Mars, among others. It’s not a list of death-themed tunes, although there are certainly enough songs like Seasons in the Sun, Don’t Fear the Reaper, and Tears in Heaven that could have made a death-themed list. Apparently, it’s supposed to be a list that your cream won’t mind hearing over and over again.
I’m ready for the jar! Whenever possible.
