pop Just launched A new Quick Cut video editing tool right inside Snapchat that “helps Snapchatters turn their favorite memories into synced, ready-to-share videos in seconds.”
With Quick Cut, you can select multiple photos or clips and then “instantly preview a displayed video,” and the feature can be accessed from multiple places in the app, including Memories and your camera roll. When you create a video, Quick Cut also automatically adds music and syncs it to the clips you stitch together, although you can change the track if you wish, and you can add lenses to your Quick Cut video, too. If you want to do more detailed editing using tools like the timeline editor, you can do so before publishing the video.
I spent a few minutes using Quick Cut, which is fun and easy to use. With just two short clips that I shot myself, Quick Cut was able to automatically piece together a goofy video that cuts between parts of the two videos in time with the theme song of Strange things. For actual content creators or even people who just want to make something fun for their friends, I can see how Quick Cut could be really useful.
Quick Cut is now available on iOS, and Snap plans to expand it to more surfaces and Android devices soon.
