Skyrim transformation 14 years old last monthIf there’s one thing you can count on, it’s that Skyrim will be released on any new gaming system. Nintendo released Switch 2 This year, so The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim Anniversary Edition comes to it.
Skyrim for Switch 2 is available at Nintendo eShop as of Tuesday for $60. This edition comes with the base game and its three expansions: Dawnguard, Dragonborn, and Hearthfire. It’s compatible with the original Switch as well.

To make this release even more special for the new console, there is exclusive in-game content from Nintendo from the Legend of Zelda series, including the Master Sword, Hylian Shield, and Champion’s Tunic.
Along with the Zelda elements, the Switch 2 version of the game will feature improved resolution over the original Switch version, as well as faster loading times, Joy-Con 2 mouse support, motion controllers, Amiibo support and other performance improvements. Players also have access to the Skyrim Creations Club, an in-game store that allows you to purchase game content, similar to mods found in the PC versions of the game. Creations Club has access to new items, quests, weapons, armor, spells, and dungeons.
Those who own the Anniversary Edition on the original Switch can download the Switch 2 version for free. If you have the base version of the original Switch game, you can get the Anniversary Upgrade for $20 to download the latest version for Switch 2.
While there will be some Skyrim fans eager to play their favorite game on the latest console, there is still the question of when the new Elder Scrolls game will be released. Todd Howard, creative director at Bethesda Game Studios and Elder Scrolls 6 game director, said in a press release: Interview with GQ last month that the latest entry in the franchise was “still a ways off.”

Elder Scrolls fans are holding out hope that they’ll finally learn more about the next adventure in the world of Tamriel next year, on the game’s 15th anniversary.
