Sharp has invented a new high-speed cooking technology called the “Golden Heater.”

It’s not every day we get a new form of cooking heat, but that’s exactly what Sharp unveiled at KBIS 2026, the sprawling kitchen and bath expo in Orlando this week.

the Sharp Celerity™ high-speed oven It features what the brand calls the “Golden Heater” — a combination of three cooking technologies that allow it to roast chicken and bake biscuits faster than any convection oven.

Pressing the Rapid Cook button turns the Golden Oven Heater on to cook three times faster than with regular convection.

The Rapid Cook function, which we saw in action in the showroom, uses traditional convection combined with microwave heat to penetrate food quickly and deeply, along with infrared radiation to sizzle and crisp the outside.

The oven is smaller than most ovens, closer to the size of a microwave.

Using microwave heat speeds up cooking time, while traditional convection aims to prevent food from drying out. Additionally, we’re told that the oven requires almost no preheating time when using the Gold Heater mode.

In a live demonstration, Sharp brand representatives baked cookies that came out of the oven gooey and golden in 9 minutes. A traditional convection oven will take at least 15 minutes to do the same job. We tasted it, of course, and it was as good as Grandma’s tasted – gently crunchy on the outside and perfectly soft and melty on the inside.

We were told that a 5-pound chicken can be roasted in 30 minutes, even faster than that In the air fryer. If you prefer this method, this oven offers it for you as well. In total, the oven has nine manual modes, including air frying, quick cooking, microwave, convection baking, and roasting.

I asked the site representative if they were concerned that home cooks would have difficulty adapting recipes to this new form of heat. And because it’s an industry-first cooking mode, they say, the oven includes dozens of pre-loaded cooking programs — which have been tested by the company’s culinary experts — to help shorten the learning curve.

The oven also has a range of smart features, many of which are familiar from other recent models. Sensor Cook technology uses humidity sensors to determine ideal cooking times and temperatures, while a built-in camera lets you monitor your food as it cooks to help prevent burning.

Celerity is currently available on Sharp website For $3,999.99.
