If you’ve ever used a pair of Sennheiser headphones, you know that they have consistently excellent sound quality, and the True Wireless 4 are no exception. They’re incredibly detailed, especially for in-ear headphones, no matter your preferred type. Our reviewer Ryan Wanyata had “a great time unleashing his entire music library” and had high praise for the excellent dynamics and accuracy. If you’re an audiophile who wants every note to stand out and shine, these are a great choice, especially without the high price barrier.

Noise cancellation isn’t perfect, but it does a great job at tuning out traffic and other busy city noises, if you want to sit in the park and enjoy some music without being disturbed. They compared well with Sony WF-1000XM5 (7/10, Wired review)And it did a great job of tuning out airplane noise, in case you don’t want to strain your ears during a quick flight.

In addition to excellent sound quality and active noise cancellation, they have all the trimmings you’d expect from a modern pair of wireless earbuds. There’s a smartphone app that lets you adjust codec settings, or adjust the five-band equalizer to suit your preferred listening style. They also have multipoint pairing, in case you need to switch between your phone and laptop regularly. We were able to get between seven and eight hours of playback time with the active noise cancellation (ANC) feature turned on, so it should last you through most of the day, and the case brings the total to around 30 hours.

While the decorative case and sleek earbuds have a unique and eye-catching design, both are a little on the large side. If you have small ears, or only carry a small bag, this may not be the best choice, but our guide to the best wireless earbuds would be a good place to start. Otherwise, audiophiles should at least consider the excellent sound the Sennheiser True Wireless 4 can provide.
