You are one of the first apprentices of your institute and the first in the robotics stand. What do you think?

I always knew I wanted to study engineering. It’s like working, how to live one day in a robotics company. If I want to dedicate myself to this, here’s how it will be. And this allowed me to improve my efforts, knowing that this is what I want to do.

How is the typical day there?

I do not limit myself to any role. I always spin, do different things.

Kensington produces these machines called EFEMS. This means a front equipment module. This is a robot that manipulates waffles. As in these factories – as in the Intel factory – where chips are produced and others, it should be completely clean, without a motorcycle powder. People can’t even manipulate it, just the fat of our hands. Therefore, they must be robots. They are machines that collect waffles and move them before cutting them into byt chips.

Cleaning is mainly in my work. Every time I work with a piece, I have to clean it two or three times before and after … this is a manufacturing installation. They hire me to help and learn new things on the move.

What made you want to be an engineer?

Ever since I was born, I was obsessed with cars and their performance, especially in the car. I always loved to work with my hands. I’m not one of those who feel in front of a computer and run nine o’clock in a row.

I also knew I wanted to study engineering, but I also wanted to maintain an open mind. I thought I wanted to take advantage of the whole experience that I could enter this area. I had studied a short engineering program at my university. He had completed three years of engineering.

How has your life changed since you became an apprentice last summer?

I like what I do, but it also takes a lot of time. It wasn’t so bad in the summer because I didn’t have hours. Now I’m in the last year of high school, so I’m preparing for university applications and all that. So it was very busy. If I weren’t in this program, I would have had a lot more free time and I don’t know what I would do with it.

I study computer integrated (class of honor). The idea was that what I learned in class coincided with what I learned at work.

What are you the most to do?

This is my first job, so I never had to combine work, life, research and friends. So I think he definitely taught me to manage time.

I learn things that people do daily. It’s one thing to study in class and do projects. Another thing is to apply what I learned in my engineering or physical classes in real situations.

Sometimes my leader gives me something, it shows me how to do it and I did something similar in my engineering class. Even my superiors told me, “I’m very impressed that you already know a lot about it.”

In engineering (class), we eventually build many things with screwdrivers and metal pieces, building tangible things. I go to the production plant in my work and feel at home.

What were the challenges you faced?

I like to play golf. I have requests for the university. And I also had two asynchronous lines. So I was not aware of everything when the school started. I understood this and thought, “What do I do with my time?” I have been at school for a few weeks and I’ve been very late with my hours online. So I stopped playing golf and going out with my friends. I was very concentrated at school, requests for university and work.

I have to take a class online at my local school, with grades, registration forms, meetings and a few things I didn’t expect. There are two or three people in the Pleston school neighborhood who attend the meetings. I was useful, supported and directing me.

How can this program improve? What changes would you make?

Many of my friends and the people I talk to do not even know that there is a similar program. I think this is a fantastic program and this is the first year we apply it, but it went unnoticed.
