Robotics software maker Skild AI is valued at $14 billion


Skild AI, which makes basic models of robots, appears to have more than tripled its value in just seven months.

The startup has raised a $1.4 billion Series C round, valuing it at more than $14 billion. Bloomberg reported. The round was led by SoftBank, and Nvidia, Macquarie Group, 1789 Capital and others also invested.

Bloomberg reported that Skild AI last raised $4.5 billion in funding the previous summer. There’s been a big push recently toward this type of robotic software that relies on learning on the go, along with the growing hype around humanoid robots.

One of the biggest obstacles to robot adoption in both personal and industrial use cases is the enormous amount of training required for robots to learn each new task. The ability to learn and adapt as they go would pave the way for greater adoption of robots.
