Rivian sues Ohayu’s car management about the state’s ban on car companies that exceed the agents to sell cars directly to consumers. In the federal lawsuit, the electric car company calls the “irrational” ban on the maximum, on the pretext that it reduces competition and reduces the choice of the consumer. Rivian also notes that Tesla is allowed to sell its cars directly to Oyeu customers, which offers an unfair stadium for other EV makers.
“The banner of Ohio is the pure economic protectionist for the benefit of the current car dealers in Ohio, which puts their profits at the forefront of consumers,” said Revyan in the complaint, which was submitted on Monday in the provincial court in the southern province in Ohio.
“Ohio’s ban is pure economic protectionism for the current car dealers in Ohio, which puts their profits at the forefront of consumers.”
The decades -later dealerships form developed in the early twentieth century, when companies such as Ford and Granur Motors used to sell them directly to consumers. But with the launch of the auto industry, there were increasing concerns about monopolistic practices, and state franchise laws have emerged. Since then, car dealers have an iron fist on sales in many states, although some companies like Tesla have found solutions.
Merchants have made sales directly to the consumer as much as possible, as she filed the lawsuits and pressed significantly through their commercial group, the National Auto Traders Association (NADA). More than ten countries have a direct ban on the sales of direct vehicles for the consumer, while some states-such as Ohio-have a partial ban. Based on a deal reached between the Tesla and OHIO Association to the agents, the company was allowed to sell its cars after agreeing to open three brick and mortars stores in the state, even with Ohio to exclude other direct sales companies.
Rivian’s suit accuses a country sculpting Tesla deals while excluding other similar companies. The lawsuit reads:
Ohio’s prohibition also meaningless. Ohio allows manufacturers such as Rivian to perform a guarantee service and other repairs to vehicles in Ohio, rent vehicles to consumers in Ohio, and even sell new vehicles to Ohio from agents outside the country, which can be delivered to the Rivian service centers in Ohio. Infrastructure, the thing that ruralleles cannot do is complete the sale of rural vehicles in Ohio. This imposes an extraordinary burden on Ohio and Rivien consumers without a legitimate reason.
This is the first time that the ruralfield has filed a lawsuit against its direct ban. A lawsuit was filed against the company by the Illinois Trader Association for violating it, but this lawsuit was finally rejected.
“Reminy believes that consumers should be able to choose the vehicles they buy,” Mike Callen, chief administrative official, said in a statement. “The choice of the consumer is the principle of the basis for the American economy. The old ban in Ohio against the direct sale of vehicles is unconstitutional and irrational, and it harms betrayal by reducing competition, choice, increased costs and inconvenience.”
