Reebok launches the first smart fitness ring to enter the health technology market

Reebok on Friday entered the health technology market for the first time Smart ring and a new global partnership with F45 Training, a fitness company. The partnership aims to bring together the F45 community and Reebok performance apparel.

The Reebok Smart Ring is designed to help members and coaches track their training, recovery, and overall health. The ring costs $249, and it collects information like your activities, heart rate, sleep, stress and body temperature to give you a “One Score” number, a comprehensive view of your wellness and readiness. It will be connected to the Reebok Fitness app, which will retain all of the ring’s health data.

The F45 buses will be equipped with Reebok equipment, and the company also has a co-branded collection sold on Reebok’s website. “Partnering with Reebok gives us the tools to realize this vision on a global level with equipment, technology and expertise that takes every workout to the next level,” Tom Dowd, chief training officer at F45, said in a statement.

The Reebok Smart Ring will compete with products like Oura ring, Superhuman ring and Samsung Galaxy Ring. I’ve tested Aura and the Ultrahuman RingsAs much as I enjoyed certain aspects of each, a lot left to be desired when it comes to fitness tracking. Reebok may have the secret to improving the fitness tracking aspect of smart rings. I’ll report back once I get the Reebok Smart Ring to test.

Right now, it’s clear that health and fitness brands want a piece of the health tech market, and I expect fierce competition to come.
