Reddit Outage Tuesday: Here’s What’s Happening


If you are having trouble accessing the news and discussion forum Reddit On Tuesday, it’s not just you.

9:30 a.m. PT, Reddit status monitoring page, RedditStatus.comHe said the company was “investigating elevated errors across reddit.com and native apps.” RedditStatus.com reported deteriorating site performance for both desktop web use and native mobile apps.

Site monitoring service DownDetector Issues were also reported on Reddit, which provided more details. (Downdetector is owned by the same parent company as CNET, Ziff Davis.)

“Reddit is currently experiencing a major internal outage causing widespread outages,” the site reported. “The impact is rated as very high, primarily affecting mobile app access (55%) and website connectivity (39%). While reports are highly concentrated in major centers like New York City and Chicago, the lack of ISP connectivity indicates a widespread nationwide issue stemming from Reddit’s internal servers rather than external network providers.”

A Reddit representative did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Another social networking site, X.com, formerly Twitter, also showed issues on Tuesday. According to the DownDetector website. These issues seem to spike around 6:30 AM PST and then improve after that.
