The Swedish carmaker, which is owned by China’s Geely, said it would begin deliveries of its cars Polestar 5 Grand Tourer For customers this summer, followed by a new long-roof model Polestar 4 In the fourth quarter. In early 2027, a “new successor” to Polestar 2 It will go into production. In 2028, the company plans to release a premium compact SUV Polestar 7.
The news comes after Polestar reported strong sales growth in 2025, with the automaker’s full-year sales reaching nearly 60,119 vehicles, a 34 percent increase over 2024. While revenue for the first nine months of 2025 grew 49 percent to $2.17 billion, the company reported a huge net loss of $1.558 billion for the same period.
jelly It has stepped up several times to back Polestar with equity investments and loan guarantees. Polestar hopes these low-cost updates – revamping the Polestar 4 body, reviving the Polestar 2 – will continue to drive sales growth while curbing the company’s losses.
First on the list is the Polestar 5, which features a 460-mile range, 800-volt superfast charging architecture, 884 horsepower, and 0-60 mph in 3.1 seconds for the Performance model. Polestar CEO Michael Longschiller calls the No. 5 “our brand’s halo car, bringing a new level of performance and luxury to the grand tourer segment.” The four-door GT is expected to cost upwards of $120,000 upon release.
The Polestar 4, which has already caused controversy due to its lack of a rear windshield, is undergoing a transformation to turn it into an estate car or station wagon for European customers. “Sweden is known for its luxury cars, and its SUVs are world-class,” Longschiller says in a press release. “We combine the space and versatility of an SUV with the dynamic performance that Polestar represents.”
Polestar stopped taking orders for the Polestar 2 last year, raising fears it would stop producing the electric car that put the brand on the map. Now Longscheller says the company is working at “record speed” to bring the next-gen version of the 2 to market at the beginning of 2027.
Finally, the Polestar 7 SUV will compete with “Europe’s largest electric vehicle segment”, compact SUVs. “We are convinced that we can offer customers a progressive, performance-driven vehicle for a very attractive price, built in Europe,” says Longschiller.
