If you compare Photos of Audio Infinio Ultra Sphere —Phonak The strongest Hearing So far, as for the name of the product, you’re not crazy: it’s not round at all. Rather, it is traditional, teardrop-shaped, and is placed behind the ear Hearing It takes its name from the new Phonak Spheric Speech Clarity 2.0 system, designed to enhance the intelligibility of conversations in noisy conditions, regardless of the direction the sounds are coming from.
Yes, the Phonak Audeo Infinio Ultra Sphere is indeed a mouthpiece. In this review, I’ll call it the Ultra Sphere. The other new hearing system in the Infinio Ultra line, called the R, is available as a less advanced and cheaper model.
The big advantage of Sphere is that it has not one but two processing chipsets two. The new DeepSonic DNN (Deep Neural Network) chip is responsible for processing multi-directional speech in noise. This is included in addition to Phonak’s older Era chip, which was launched in 2024 and handles the basic audio processing and wireless functions. Are two strips better than one for clear hearing? I wore Ultra Sphere hearing aids for a week to find out.

Ultra Sphere hearing aids are larger than most modern behind-the-ear (BTE) hearing aids, obviously due to the extra silicone inside. They weigh 3.39 grams each, which represents a significant increase in size compared to devices like the 2.58 grams Jabra Boost Select 700 Or 2.68 grams Horizon Go 7IX. But although they are more easily visible to outside observers, this difference does not noticeably affect comfort, even with long-term wear. (More on this later.)
Both hearing aids have a two-way rocker button used to control power, volume, and media. Tap control is also an option for some Bluetooth functions, but this is disabled in MyPhonak application By default. Bearing units IP68 rating for weather resistance It is available in seven colours. (I tested them in black.) You’ll also be provided with your preferred ear tip style (open, closed, or Phonak’s new wax-resistant EasyGuard domes) during your professional evaluation.
These prescription hearing aids worked well across the board in my tests. Professionally tuned by a Phonak representative, their claims of better hearing in noisy conditions were accurate, and the background sound was moderately dull — though not transformative — in most cases. It’s almost impossible to say how well the Ultra Sphere tools work compared to other models on this front. Oddly enough, they worked better in noise than in relative silence. In a quiet room, hearing aids sometimes hiss gently for a few seconds, stop, and then hiss again a few minutes later. This slight hissing effect persisted throughout my experience, but I was only able to detect it when there was no other noise in the room.
