Peak Design launches a collection of Mobile tapes To carry small tools and other essentials without putting them in the bag. There are three versions available starting today: a $29.95 mobile band for your wrist, a $49.95 two-point crossbody strap, and a $59.95 multi-point crossbody strap that allows you to carry multiple items at once using mounting accessories.
Peak Design straps feature a wire cord specifically developed for “strength, comfort, and stretch,” and are compatible with any Peak Design or Apple iPhone 17 case, and any third-party case if paired with the included adapter. All of the Crossbody Multi-Strap’s mounting attachments are rated to withstand 50 pounds (23 kg) of force per attachment point, and can hold items such as “compact and lightweight point-and-shoot cameras.” So, don’t use heavier mirrorless cameras or DSLRs.
Pictures of the Crossbody Multi-Strap from Peak Design make it look more like climbing gear when multiple items are hanging from it. Honestly, at that point, a small pouch or sling probably makes more sense, especially for anyone carrying an AirPods case that can be easily opened.
Carrying straps for smartphones are very popular throughout Europe and Asia. Peak Design bands come after Apple’s launch Crossbody strap for iPhone, $59 Last year which features a flat design and magnetic length adjustment.
