What’s so great about merino wool?

Merino wool is great because you steal the ability of the sheep to keep itself warm or cool based on the temperatures it is in. This process is often referred to as thermoregulation. Merino sheep have a finer, softer wool than most people think of when they think of wool. Sheep developed this soft coat to keep them comfortable in a wide range of temperatures. The result is a fabric that is comfortable to wear next to your skin. For the softest T-shirts, look for ultra-fine or ultra-fine fabrics — meaning 17 micrometers or higher — like Unbound T-shirts.

Wool is also sustainable. A single sheep can produce between 4 and 5 pounds of wool per year. While cotton has its place, and so do synthetic clothing sometimes, merino wool is a wonderful fabric that is a cornerstone of my wardrobe. I don’t think you can have too many merino pieces in your closet, but they’re not cheap, which is why we offer these deals.

What’s so great about Unbound Merino?

I like Unbound shirts because they are made of 100% merino wool, with no synthetic materials. This means that all the antibacterial, odor-resistant, moisture-wicking, temperature-regulating properties of Merino wool… just work. I’ve found the Unbound shirts in particular to be quick-drying and wrinkle-resistant, two reasons I believe they are Best merino shirts for travel. The company’s pants also have a very high wool content (95 percent) and fold well, making them extremely packable. Do you need special travel clothes? No, but Unbound merino wool is naturally odor-resistant, which means you need it Less pieces in your bag. The company also offers a 30-day warranty. If you don’t like it, you can return it.

How to care for merino wool

Most Merino products come with care instructions. Unbound Merino’s shirts should be washed cold with like colours, then laid flat to dry. Whatever you do, don’t bleach them or tumble dry them. The latter is particularly devastating. I do this with every wool shirt I test, and it makes me feel sad, but I know some of you won’t listen and will do it anyway, so I need to know what’s going on so I can warn you. Do not dry it with dryer. Just wear it Drying rack. It takes no more than one day. Seriously, I just spent $80 (on sale!) on a t-shirt; Take care of him. Properly cared for, high-quality merino clothing like Unbound’s is incredibly durable and will last for years. Throw them in the dryer and the stacking process will begin almost immediately.

Do I always lay it flat to dry? No, when I travel I usually wash my hands in the sink and then hold them over the shower curtain rod to dry, which doesn’t seem to have much of a negative impact. The problem with hanging wool to dry is that it will expand due to the weight of the water. This is especially true with 100% merino, such as Unbound shirts.

I’ve never had a problem storing merino in my closet between wears, but for long-term storage, I recommend taking precautions against moths, which are notorious for eating holes in wool. I have lost my merino clothes to moths. I make sure everything I store is thoroughly washed and dried, then I seal it in a bag Compression bag. Another option is to place your merino clothing in a cotton bag or wrap it in cotton and then place it in a plastic box. It is very important to ensure that the item of clothing is completely dry before using any of these storage methods; Otherwise, the wool will smell musty and musty. Other options include storing your clothes in a cedar box, which is a good natural moth deterrent, or using moth traps or lavender bags, which will repel moths.

Merino T-Shirt

The Unbound shirts were my introduction to the brand, and are still one of my favorite merino shirts. This shirt is incredibly soft, and because it’s 100% merino wool, it will stay odor-free for ages—for five or six days in my testing. This depends on local temperatures, what you’re doing, etc. I also like that the design of the Unbound Merino Crew Neck Tee is not overly technical, like many merino shirts. This is just a plain, stylish t-shirt that won’t make you look like Alex Honnold Wanting. They are also lightweight and can be packed into a small roll, which is perfect if you want to simplify To one bag. (Really, is there any other way to travel?)

The last thing I love about these is how quickly they dry. In most climates, you can wash it in the sink at night, wrap it in a towel, wring it dry, lay it flat, and it will be dry by morning. Speaking of which, Unbound shirts need to run small. To help them last a long time, I recommend hand washing and line drying. Also note that while I love the merino crew neck, the The V-neck is also on sale for $80 ($10 off).

These have a more formal look, and you may be able to go to the office in them, depending on your office and how far your boss’s definition of “business casual” extends. I’ve worn them to nice restaurants without a second glance, yet they don’t scream “I have money” when you get back to your hotel room at 2 a.m.

As you’d expect from anything Unbound makes, these packs are fantastically compact. You can pack two pairs of them for each pair of jeans. Again, for serious travelers looking to live out of one carry-on, this is huge. The only downside is that they are on the thin side, and not something you want to wear alone in colder climates. If you’re like me and have to deal with winter, throw away Good base layer Under it and you’ll be fine. the Slim fit trousers Also on sale if that’s your style.

Lightweight travel backpack

Unbound recently branched out beyond merino clothing to create this travel bag. I didn’t have the chance To test this thoroughly So far, but I’ve been using it for a few weeks and I like it so far. This is a well-thought-out package that strikes a good balance between the organization included, and leaves enough space to allow you to do your own organizing. I especially like the pen holder and tech bag. I also like that when you don’t need it, it lies impressively flat inside another bag. It’s surprisingly comfortable for its size. With a capacity of 15 litres, this is not a huge pack, it is designed to complement your main luggage with enough room for everything you need throughout the day.
