Hackberry, provider Meticulously curated clothing and gear for the kind of person equally at home in the woods and the city is one of the company’s rare site-wide sales this week — or very close to site-wide. We’ve tested and loved quite a few Huckberry products, esp 72 hour resistant merino T-shirt. If you don’t buy anything else this year, buy this. Trust me. Check out the other deals, which we’ve rounded up below.
Proof Hoppery 72 Hour Merino is Our favorite merino wool t-shirt. The design and cut are not overly sporty, making them more versatile than others, from everyday wear around town to trips to the gym. Mine is still soft after six months of wear and washing. With 87% ultra-fine 150gsm merino wool (16.5 microns) and 13% nylon, this shirt is a great start for those new to merino wool – there’s enough nylon that it’s stretchy, and no less itchy.
These pants are the companion piece to the 72 Hour Shirt above. Although, there is less wool here. The composition consists of 47% merino wool, 33% nylon, 14% polyester, and 6% elastane. The result is a fabric that is more stretchy than a T-shirt, which still provides a good amount of moisture wicking and the anti-odor properties of Merino. My only problem with these is that they feel artificial. What I love about them is their stain resistance. Yes, the DWR coating that gives them stain resistance will fade, but it’s not hard to renew.
When I travel, these are the pants I wear. They are light, comfortable, stretchy and weigh almost nothing. They’re made of 98% cotton, with 2% spandex to give them a little stretch. Unlike jeans, these types of jeans are flexible enough that you can perform squats easily. This may translate to some stretching over time, but I’ve been wearing mine for about a year and they still fit perfectly.
I love this jacket. It’s the only jacket I’ve ever worn that anyone complimented on, and that was also the case with another WIRED employee. Sure, the waxed fabric is heavy, but it holds up well to wear. I’ve had my Trucker Jacket for over a year, and it still looks like new. I don’t need to re-wax it yet, but I have re-waxed other things, and it’s very simple. There is also a fleece lined version, which I haven’t tried but wish I had that instead of flannel. that it For sale as well.

GoRucks is Awesome backpacksBut it’s not cheap. Here’s an opportunity to get a GoRuck GR1 for a little less. This is a collaboration between GoRuck and Huckberry, with branding from both companies present on the packaging. My favorite thing about the GR1 is its versatility. I used this package for plane travel (As a carry on), canoeing, hiking, transporting camera equipment, and more. I even strapped it to the rear rack of my bike for an overnight bike packing trip. If you want to mess with it, Grab a weight plate as well.
the Yeti Hopper Flip 12 It’s a nice little cooler. The Hopper Flip 12 closes with a waterproof zipper, which has never leaked on me yet. At 12 litres, it’s not huge. Consider a six-pack and a sandwich pack, depending on what you use to keep things cold (ice packs are the way to go with these packs).
This isn’t a huge discount, but anytime you can save some money on Snow Peak, it’s a win. The company’s incredibly well-designed equipment isn’t cheap. Take this mug, which costs $47 for a cup of coffee. But look, it’s titanium, okay? It’s double-walled, so your coffee stays warm even on those bitter cold mornings in the cabin. Wired editor Adrienne So has used these cups camping for 10 years.
If you want a mug, you better get a mug French press also.
You see where we’re going here – the mug, the brewer, and now the grinder. Yep, that’s $140 (on sale!) of high quality aluminum and high carbon Stainless steel burr grinderI know this is a lot. It is also the best and most reliable manual grinder I have ever used. My daughter is five years old and has stood up to the abuse for years and years of traveling without missing a beat. It’s missing a little paint, but it runs just like the day I got it. For sale, I might add.

Everyday backpack is one of Our favorite camera bagsbut it doesn’t have to be that way. It’s really just a great EDC backpack with some well-thought-out features, like a collapsible waist belt, three FlexFold dividers, and a nice strap to attach to your phone handle. Rolling carry on bag.
