Nvidia announced today at CES 2026 that it will help Siemens’ electronic design automation (EDA) software run on its GPUs in an effort to speed up the chip design process. Almost all computer chips today are designed using EDA tools, and as the size of chip features gets smaller and the number of transistors increases, the process becomes more computationally intensive.
Beyond accelerating chip development, Nvidia and Siemens aim to create digital faxes, from chips to entire racks, to test their functionality before they are manufactured. “What we hope, and the reason we partner so closely together, is that we can build the Vera Rubin of the future as a digital twin,” Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said today in a Siemens keynote.
