NordPass review: A nearly flawless password manager

NordPass also offers a family plan that comes complete with six accounts; Otherwise, it is identical to the personal plan. Again, you can save a lot in the initial period, but the family plan renews for about $72 per year. That’s $12 more expensive than 1Password’s family plan, though it’s $13 cheaper than Keeper’s family offering.

Never

For someone like me, importing a password manager is extremely important. I have over 600 entries across logins, credit cards, addresses, notes, and more, and the import process isn’t always as smooth as I’d like. Fortunately, NordPass doesn’t fall into common import pitfalls.

When you first open the extension, NordPass will ask you to import your passwords, and includes instructions for browsers, including Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Brave, and other password managers, including LastPass, 1Password, and Dashlane. I imported my passwords from Proton Pass, and NordPass recognized all 608 entries without any problems.

The only hurdle I ran into was the two-factor authentication (2FA) code I stored with Proton Pass. Unfortunately, NordPass doesn’t support storing TOTP tokens, so you’ll need to use a third-party app like Google Authenticator. NordPass still alerted me about this code and suggested setting up another app — a nice touch, even if the lack of TOTP support was disappointing.

Unlike 1Password And with its wide range of different access types, NordPass is spot on. On a large scale, you can store login information (including passwords and… Pass keys), notes, credit cards, addresses and documents. There are no preset entry types for more obscure entries, e.g SSH keys Or medical records available on 1Password.

Fortunately, this doesn’t make much difference in practice. You can add custom fields to any entry — formats include text, hidden text, or date — as well as add notes and attach files. This is the standard price for most password managers, but a unique addition NordPass includes is a reminder field for documents. If you store your ID card or passport in your safe, for example, you can set a reminder when that document expires.

Fill out solid forms

Although NordPass doesn’t come with a lot of pre-set entry types, it makes navigating your vault much easier. In the web app, you will find shortcuts to all input types in the left menu. Below that, you can see and organize folders, and below that, you’ll find email hiding, password safety, and data breach scanner features.

As for organization, you’re limited to the few folders and input types that NordPass supports, which is unfortunate. Folders work, but you can’t nest folders inside each other — you have to stick to broad categories like “Personal” and “Work” without any additional organization — and you can’t tag entries.
