Nintendo wants to plant a talking flower in your home in March

Nintendo An alarm clock filled with music Released over a year ago, there’s a new home companion from the always unpredictable Nintendo this spring. This time it’s Zahra’s talkative friend, arriving on March 12.

Talking Flower was teased last year and full details emerged today on Nintendo’s Talking Flower, a modern re-creation of the useful/annoying/charming flowers that have been popping up everywhere in Super Mario Wonder game. It’s a little flower in a pot with a trumpet head that talks to you, not to you.

The flower has neither a screen nor a microphone. It’s just conversations. Sometimes it only says things twice an hour, but it can be useful too: it can remind you of bedtimes, tell you the time, indicate the room temperature, or act as an alarm clock.

There’s only one button in Talking Flower, which either triggers more random comments or can silence the thing for a while by pressing and holding for a couple of seconds. (Good news, parents.) But there’s also a “Music Mode” that calls up the Mario Wonder music track from the game, and then pressing the button makes the flower say more things to the music.

It’s weird that a flower has a thermometer inside it, but this is Nintendo – it doesn’t seem like specific temperatures are recorded, but it might say “It’s colder today!” It’s also weird trying to understand how this flower is related to Alarmo, a Nintendo home product that focuses solely on the bed. You can place the flower anywhere and for any purpose. It’s a collectible. Most likely, you will be spooked by random talk out of nowhere.

And again, now that Nintendo is an entertainment company It also focused on theme parks and movies Like consoles and games, something like a talking flower makes sense. Seasonal souvenirs are Nintendo’s bread and butter, but we don’t know the price of those gifts yet. It will be available to order on Nintendo’s website today, and will arrive on March 12.
