New HyZero wet vacuum and mop without suction. Here’s how it performed on the test

I should be clear: scrubbing and mopping hardwood floors are among my least favorite chores, which does my kitchen a huge disservice. The crux of the problem is that my attention span is well and truly exhausted by the time I finish cleaning everything else. The extra steps of grabbing the broom, dustpan, mop, and bucket (freshly cleaned sink) often escape my mind.

But things changed when I tested recently Hezero F300 All-in-One Hard Floor Cleanerwhich sweeps and wipes simultaneously. Wet and dry vacuum cleaners are a category we have seen growth in recent years, with products such as Dyson Wash G1, Roborock F25 Ultra and Dreame H15 Pro Carpet Flex They all offer wet and dry mopping as well as additional features such as steam cleaning and hot water mopping.

Although the design is similar to the above Cordless electric mopsThe F300 does not rely on suction to pull out debris. Instead, it uses a durable multi-cylinder to pull out dirt while separating solid and liquid waste. However, the hefty $600 price tag made me want more bang for my buck. Here’s everything I like and don’t like about this handy hardwood floor cleaner.

The HeZero Multi-Roller handles most messes with ease

I had to stop myself from mopping the floor before using the Hizero F300. Old habits die hard.

At first, using the Hizero F300 felt like I was reprogramming everything I knew about cleaning hardwood floors. But after that unlearnable curve, the F300 is easy to grab whenever you need to clean up a spill in the kitchen.

Although my tests aren’t scientific, I compared the HyZero to my typical broom and mop setup. In almost every case, the new F300 was faster and easier to use. The secret to this performance is the Hizero Multi-Roller, which I can only describe as a durable foam roller that should last about 12 months.

The F300 is quieter than my vacuum.

As the F300 moves along the floor, the roller uses friction to pull in solids while absorbing liquids. Once inside the machine, the mop removes excess liquid, leaving the roller fresh for the included cleaning solution. Likewise, the internal hair collection roller helps separate solid debris into a small dust tray.

I definitely prefer liquid cleaning of the F300 over frequent mop or towel wringing. The little moisture left on the floor dries quickly, especially compared to a regular mop. Cleaning solid materials is also good, thanks to the internal brush and dust tray.

Charging base with accessories

Like some electric floor cleaners, the Heziro Hardwood Floor Cleaner may struggle to handle tight corners or low furniture.

The smooth surface of the multi-roller is supposed to be great for preventing scratches on hardwood or polished tiles. Unfortunately, I don’t have any of these in my house, but I didn’t notice any obvious scratches after a quick test on a plexiglass sheet. Heziro warns against cleaning sharp objects, such as broken glass, which could damage the roller.

My only reservation about the F300’s cleaning performance is that even the Intensive Cleaning mode can’t remove some of the heavier dirt from the bottom of the portable dishwasher. Admittedly, this dirt requires a lot of scrubbing with my regular mop and a strong degreaser, so treat it as an exception rather than a constant observation. The F300 is more than adequate for everyday cleaning tasks and also handles some of the less dense dirt in front of the stove.

I have mixed opinions about water tanks and cleaning solutions

While I like that you can separate the dual water tanks, I’ve never found a need for it.

John Carlsen/CNET

The Hizero F300 uses a dual tank that separates into a lower clean water tank and an upper wastewater tank, similar to the Dyson Wash G1. Mixing the hardwood floor cleaning solution into the clean water tank was more difficult than I would have liked. You should keep the silicone plug open to pour into two small caps of cleaner. I spilled the cleaning concentrate almost every time I filled this tank.

By contrast, the Roborock F25 Ultra, which we’re testing at CNET’s Louisville lab, features an automatic detergent dispenser, which does this automatically. You’ll find similar features in recently released wet and dry vacuums, so this seems like an omission on Hezero’s part.

Adding water to the tank is a little easier, as you can keep it horizontally under the tap.

John Carlsen/CNET

The clean water tank lasts between 15 minutes in economical cleaning mode and 10 minutes in intensive cleaning mode, which I found is enough to clean my kitchen several times. My kitchen is on the smaller end at 32 square feet of tile, so larger rooms may require multiple cabinets. However, you will need to empty the waste water tank frequently if you are cleaning up spilled milk or juice.

Although the seals on the clean water tank seemed secure, the waste water tank leaked when I tilted it too much on my way to the sink. It’s no problem if you hold the tank vertically, but at least the roller cleans up the spill pretty quickly.

The battery lasts about 60 minutes, so you don’t need to charge as much as you need to fill the tank.

My other concern is that this product is used HyZero cleaning solution (about $30) Exclusive; There are no instructions for using other cleaners or even diluting the vinegar. While I suspect this is to maximize the life of the F300 and Multi Roller, it’s still an additional purchase that locks you into the Hizero ecosystem. (To be fair, many companies do this.) While you can safely use clean water if you don’t want to buy Hyzero detergent, I appreciate you having another option.

Clear maintenance

Hizero’s included tools and manual make maintenance simple.

John Carlsen/CNET

You can open the top of the unit with one button, and both rollers will pop out for easy cleaning. I like that Hizero includes specialized cleaning brushes for the hair collection drum and solid waste container, which you can easily store on the docking station.

There’s also an automatic self-cleaning option for the Multi Roller, which involves turning on the Intensive Cleaning mode while the F300 is placed on the charging stand (while unplugged) – or placed above the floor. To use it, you will need at least a partially clean water tank and an empty waste water tank.

I like that the Hizero User Guide doesn’t over complicate routine maintenance. It combines concise, direct language with diagrams where you may need more clarity. Best of all, it covers practically everything you need to know about the F300 without sending you to an online support page.

Should you buy the Hizero F300 All-in-One Hard Floor Cleaner?

The Hizero F300 is better than a traditional mop and vacuum, but it may be too expensive for people on a budget.

John Carlsen/CNET

At $600, the Hizero F300 All-in-One Hard Floor Cleaner is an expensive option compared to vacuum mops like the $230 Shark SD201the Mova K30 and Tineco Floor One Stretch S6 (The last two cost $400.) On the other hand, it’s less expensive than competitors we test in the CNET Lab, including its closest competitor, the $770 Dyson Wash G1 and the $700 Dyson Wash G1. Dreame H15 Pro Carpet Flex And 800 dollars Roborock F25 UltraWhich comes loaded with additional features, such as steam cleaning, self-drying with hot air, and AI-powered wheels.

While the unique Multi Roller promises to protect delicate floors from scratches, I’m not sure if its limited reach into corners can compete with the exposed rollers in the Mova and Tineco, which can also clean baseboards. There’s also the F25 Ultra, which has steam cleaning capabilities that Roborock claims has been tested to be safe for wood floors.

However, the F300’s quieter motor and 60-minute run time make people with large areas of hardwood floors choose the Heziro over the competition. It’s also the lightest of the bunch at just 7.7lbs compared to the Dyson G1’s 10.8lbs. But if, like me, you have very few hardwood floors, setting up your trusty broom and mop will save you a lot of money.
