Netflix launches a new kids’ gaming app

Netflix has made family-friendly titles a staple part of its… Current gaming strategyNow it’s even more difficult with the launch of a new app. The app is called Netflix Playground, and it focuses on games aimed at kids eight and under. Like the rest of Netflix’s game lineup, Playground games are included as part of your Netflix subscription, and don’t contain any ads or in-app purchases.

Playground is available now in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Philippines, and New Zealand, and will be released to the rest of the world on April 28. The launch lineup mainly consists of titles based on popular children’s shows such as Peppa pig and Sesame Street (He too Now streaming on Netflix). “We are creating a seamless destination to discover, learn and play,” John Derderian, Netflix’s vice president of animated series + kids and family TV, said in a statement.
