Nest’s new smart thermostat adds artist-designed seasonal animations

Now, Nest’s fourth-generation thermostat has been upgraded, thanks to a partnership with Artist Matilde Lopez. The offer now has it 12 new animations.

The animation is largely seasonal but also allows you to choose your favorites and keep them throughout the year. Designs include drifting autumn leaves, snow falling on a pinecone, and a variety of fruits and flowers swaying in the breeze. There are also simpler options, drawn with minimal lines to show flowery symbols such as a snowflake, wave or leaf.

In addition to these impactful creations, Google is adding three classic creations Heat facesreminiscent of the first generations of Nest thermostats and their simpler appearance.

These new faces should now be available if you’ve updated and verified your Google Home app Heat settings. I’m off to try it now.
